Do you know of any resources for Am Rev POWs? I’m slowly trying to verify accounts in an old DAR application and a printed family history that an ancestor was a POW in NYC after the Battle of Long Island. The DAR has not responded to my request, nor has the NYGBS (submitted long before they closed their library to move it).

I agree with all of the comments. Want to add that I find Footnote.com invaluable. I have found the Rev. War records exceptionally helpful this past year. Ability to read correspondence in pension files, etc. helped to sort out three soldiers of same name who had been mixed up even in DAR records.
